Cheap Gloves

My summer gloves are cheap. After riding home in a rainstorm last week, my hands were dyed black. They were this dark after washing with soap and water three times.

I need better gloves. Thankfully this was on the way home and not the way to work. Or I'd have gotten lots of strange looks during the work day.

  1. By the way, I was riding my wife's bike in the rain, not my own. Knowing rain was in the forecast I borrowed her bike since she still has tread on her tires.

  2. Reasons why you shouldn't buy pakistani leather gloves from a street vendor and then wear them in the rain...

I remember a similar thread recently pertaining to bargain leather pants.

At least my seams aren't unraveling.

Seems like warm weather stuff oughtta be on sale soon since we're cruising (so to speak) toward cooler weather.

I have their gauntlet gloves and they are resonably warm, especially considering the price... haven't worn them in the rain though.

  4. Ted was asking for recommendations for *warm* weather gloves. For *hot* weather I like my 1st Gear mesh. For warm weather, there must be a bazillion general purpose name brand leather sport gloves available.

Look for something well-made with double leather on potential contact
points. I like gloves with gauntlets, but YMMV. Now, if Ted was looking for a cool/cold weather glove I'd heartily recomend the Olympia All Season 4350.

With these and heated grips, electric gloves aren't necessary for about 10 months out of the year.

  5. I have had a pair of Oylmpic's for several years. The air scoops on the fingers really work. They've been through many rains without bleeding and are a real delight on sweaty days.

Darn, don't seem to find a URL.

    Here's another glove:
