Jezebel has been sold to the highest bidder. After four years and 16,000 miles, it's time to say goodbye.
I listed her on eBay, and had my share of flakes making bids, demanding special treatment, and ultimately cancelling bids.
But in the end, she appears to have sold.
I've always liked the Magnas, all the way back to (and especially) the '87 model. Mainly 'cause the weren't trying as hard to "be a Harley" and had a look and identity that stood on their own before most of the other Japanese cruisers got it right. Except maybe the V-Max (also a v4 shaft drive incidentally).
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! The Super Magna of '87 and '88 was a fantastic bike.
ReplyDeleteLooks all its own, not a copy of Harley. Still retained the shaft drive.
The 1994-2003 third gen Magna -- of which Jezebel was a member -- suffered from a "dumbing down" of the Magna platform. Five speed transmission instead of six. Cheaper suspension. Chain drive. And some would say, an "imitation Harley" look.
My hub still has a 1983 Magna in great shape, we love that bike.
