Really dont like the look of the 2008 fireblade. But apparently its had some good reviews on its perfomance. But for me Im not good enough to tell the difference between the performance on these new bikes. there all pretty close. Its more of a design thing for me, if it looks good i'll buy it. Either way you had better get some motorcycle insurance because 178bhp on two wheels is mental, and all I can suggest to people who consider buying this bike, is be sensible its not a toy and should not be your first bike if you have only just passsed your test.
