And do you still have that whimpy 1157 light? Buy a bright LED or an inexpensive 2357LL. They have 2x the brake light output of an 1157. When you tap it a few times people see it.
Agreed - the rider was stupid for riding without a helmet. But I do feel the driver of the truck should've gotten a ticket.
